Yes. This is a motor hotel after all. Convenient self-parking is included in your stay and located just outside the guest rooms.

What about charging an EV?

Fuel up while you rest up by plugging into one of our two EV chargers during your stay. Located outside the lobby, these are exclusively for hotel guest use. Pop by the front desk to get access to charge up.

Lightning-fast high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and it’s included in your stay. You’ll get the login info when you check in.

For your convenience, the ice machine is on the first floor, just behind the glass door next to the restaurant.

Guest room A/C and heating are controlled by the thermostat on the wall, not the dials on the units themselves.

The pool is open 8 am to 9 pm daily. Use your room key to access the gate, and swim at your own risk. There’s no lifeguard on duty. Use your guest room robe to stay cozy on the way, but leave your towels in your room. The pool towels stocked by the pool can be used there. The pool is heated year-round.

Looking to get cozy by the fire pits?

Cozy up at any of our gas fire pits in the backyard; they light up on demand using the dial on the side. We just ask that you wrap it up by 10 pm when quiet hours begin.

Feel like exploring on two wheels?

Guests can borrow the bicycles available on site on a first-come, first-served basis; pick up a helmet, sign out a bike from the front desk, and hit the trails.

Borrow a telescope from the front desk, and explore Flagstaff's dark skies from the Backyard.

Looking to play bocce or cornhole?

We have dedicated areas in the Backyard for just this purpose. Borrow balls and bags from the front desk, and get to it.

Does Fido need to heed nature’s call?

The Barkyard beckons. Your pet can take care of business safely — far from cars and prying eyes — in our fenced pet relief area located toward the back of the property. We ask that you please pick up after your pet and use the provided trash can.

Got a dirty dog on your hands?

Is your furry BFF dusty or muddy from a long day outdoors? Or just a little ripe from riding in the car? Rinse them right off using our dog-wash station in the Barkyard.

For your convenience, there is a microwave on the first floor, just behind the glass door next to the restaurant.

How It All Began

Our motor hotel was originally built in 1962, an era defined by its carefree spirit. Think The Jetsons meets Easy Rider. In fact, when that 1969 independent road classic was filming in and around Flagstaff, Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and the rest of the crew stayed in and worked out of the Americana.

Though thoroughly reimagined, our 88-room retreat still channels the ease and optimism of that golden age of road travel with a playful dash of retro-futurism and an open embrace of our astounding natural wonders added for good measure.

Fun Design

With a custom redesign led by Andrew Alford, our hotel’s playful aesthetic pays homage to Flagstaff’s deep ties to astronomy, extraordinary natural surroundings, and our location right on iconic Route 66. A nostalgic vision of a future that once felt possible is brought to life through bold colors and vibrant geometric graphics that are equal parts vintage and modern. From the neon sign to the disco balls in the guest rooms and the shifting lobby color palette that echoes a vibrant Arizona sunset, this is a hotel designed with good times in mind.

Down on the ground, we’ve planted drought-tolerant landscaping, swapped glass and plastic for aluminum cans, offer guests reusable water bottles upon check-in, use bio-friendly food packaging and flatware, and have two EV charging stations to get you fueled up and back on the road.
