This June, history rolls through Flagstaff, and Americana Motor Hotel is right in the middle of it all. Route 66 turns 100, our own sixty-fourth anniversary lands just a week later, and there's a wild steak challenge stopping by the pool in between. It's shaping up to be our kind of month.
On June 6th, Flagstaff hosts the official Route 66 Centennial Celebration, a free, family-friendly event running 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Expect nostalgic reenactments, a classic car show, streetscape art installations, and live music from swing bands to the Flagstaff Community Band. There's axe throwing, face painting, a bookmobile, and an evening screening of Disney's Cars on Heritage Square to cap it all off. Mountain Line is even offering free service on all routes that day, so you can tour the Mother Road in true road-trip style.
Then on June 13th, Americana turns 64. We're throwing a poolside bash with a live DJ spinning all afternoon, plus food and drink specials to toast six-plus decades of neon, nostalgia, and that distinctly retro-futuristic spirit that's made this spot a Route 66 landmark. We're still the same laid-back basecamp we've always been, just a little more weathered by the road, and all the better for it.
Book your stay. History's waiting.
